Waterfront Redevelopment Area (Riverton + Parcels A–K)

Several regional media outlets have recently highlighted the opportunity to develop a new riverfront bar and restaurant in Sayreville following the issuance of a Request for Proposals (RFP) by the Sayreville Economic and Redevelopment Agency (SERA).

The project seeks a qualified developer and hospitality operator to design, finance, construct, operate, and maintain a destination-quality waterfront restaurant at the intersection of Sayreville Boulevard and River Road. The vision for the site includes an indoor–outdoor dining experience, bar and lounge areas, a seasonal tiki bar, outdoor seating, and a publicly accessible viewing deck overlooking the Raritan River.

Structured as a public–private partnership, the project will be privately financed while the land remains publicly owned. The goal is to activate an underutilized municipal waterfront parcel and create a new destination for residents and visitors while enhancing the overall waterfront experience in Sayreville.

The opportunity has generated interest from several regional news outlets that have covered the RFP and the potential impact of the project on the community.
