At the August 14, 2025 meeting of the Sayreville Economic & Redevelopment Agency (SERA), Executive Director Himanshu Shah provided an update on several key initiatives currently underway.
Website & Digital Presence
SERA is in the final stages of launching a new, modernized website at www.seranj.gov, which will serve as a central hub for redevelopment information in the Borough. The updated platform is designed to improve transparency, public access, and communication between the agency and the community.
The site will feature:
Updated and reorganized content for easier navigation.
Educational pages outlining the redevelopment process in New Jersey.
Links to important state resources, including the NJEDA, DCA, and NJDEP, to help stakeholders identify funding opportunities.
A dedicated section showcasing recently designated “Areas in Need of Redevelopment” within Sayreville, complete with the community’s vision for each site.
The website is scheduled to launch next month and will be optimized for both desktop and mobile use.
Riverton Development Update
Progress continues at the Riverton project site, with construction of the Bass Pro Shops facility on track. The building’s exterior shell is expected to be completed this Fall, after which it will be turned over to Bass Pro for interior construction. At the same time, work is advancing on the Gateway Services Area to prepare pad sites for future development.
Redevelopment Planning Update
Looking ahead, SERA’s planner will present the Ernston Road Mini Mall Area in Need of Redevelopment and Rehabilitation Study to the Planning Board at its next meeting. This study will provide a framework for revitalization and align with the agency’s broader redevelopment strategy across Sayreville.
